TripAdvisor Review Express

Looking to boost your reviews on TripAdvisor? Xola makes it easy to automatically send post-experience review requests through TripAdvisor’s Review Express. Here's how to get started!

What is Review Express?

Review Express is a free tool from TripAdvisor that helps you collect more reviews by sending automated emails to your guests after their experience. With the Xola integration, you can seamlessly send review requests after a tour or activity—no extra steps needed.

How to get started

Sign up for TripAdvisor Review Express

If you’re not already using Review Express, you’ll need to sign up first:

  1. Go to TripAdvisor Review Express.

  2. Log into your TripAdvisor account (or create one).

  3. Follow the prompts to enable Review Express for your business.

Get your TripAdvisor Location ID

You’ll need your Location ID to complete the setup in Xola:

  1. Visit your TripAdvisor listing.

  2. Look at the URL in your browser. Your Location ID is the number at the end of the web address.
    Example: https://www.tripadvisor.com/Attraction_Review-g12345-d67890-Your_Business_Name.html → the Location ID is 67890.

Connect Review Express in Xola

  1. In Xola, go to Settings > Apps.

  2. Find TripAdvisor Review Express and click Install.

  3. Enter your TripAdvisor Location ID and the email address associated with your TripAdvisor account.

Once this is submitted, TripAdvisor may take up to 48 hours to approve your account and connect it. After this time period, TripAdvisor Review Express should be fully integrated with your Xola account.

To configure which products you would like TripAdvisor Review Express to apply to, or reset your URL navigate to Settings > Apps > TripAdvisor Review Express and click Configure. Here you can choose which products to send out review requests to via TripAdvisor Review Express.

Note: You will want to turn off Global Reviews or Listing Specific Reviews when you switch to TripAdvisor Review Express, to avoid double requesting reviews.

How it works

  • After a guest completes a booking, Xola will automatically send their information to TripAdvisor.

  • TripAdvisor then sends a Review Express email to the guest, asking them to leave a review.

  • You’ll see the reviews appear on your TripAdvisor listing.

Note: Xola only shares guest information if the reservation is completed and not canceled, and if the guest provides an email address.

Tips for Success

  • Let your guests know they'll be getting a TripAdvisor email so they're more likely to open and respond.

  • Encourage staff to mention reviews during or after the experience.

  • Check your TripAdvisor listing regularly to monitor reviews and respond when appropriate.
