Streamline Reservations with the Xola + GetYourGuide Integration

GetYourGuide (GYG) is one of the leading European marketplaces for tours and activities, connecting millions of travelers with unforgettable experiences around the world. By listing your offerings on GYG, you gain access to a vast audience of international customers looking for curated, top-rated activities.

With the Xola + GetYourGuide integration, you can seamlessly manage real-time reservations made through the GYG website, as well as their iOS and Android apps, all from within your Xola dashboard. This integration eliminates the need for manual updates and ensures your availability, reservations, and customer information remain synchronized across both platforms.

User Access: Administrator or Curator roles have access to set up GetYourGuide in Xola.

Administrator, Reservationist Lite or Reservationist roles can view and modify GetYourGuide reservations in Xola. 

Equipment Manager, Guide Manager or Guide roles can only view GetYourGuide reservations on the Roster.

How to Get Started

To connect your GetYourGuide and Xola accounts, follow these steps:

  • Create a GetYourGuide Account
  • Set up Products in GetYourGuide
    • Your GetYourGuide offerings must align with only one of your Xola Experiences. For example, suppose you have different variations of the same experience in Xola with different durations. In that case, a product must be created in GetYourGuide for each of these experiences so they can match Xola exactly.
    • The schedule in your GetYourGuide offering must exactly match the corresponding Experience in Xola. If it does not, you'll need to modify your schedule or create a new Experience for your offering.
  • Install the Integration in Xola
    • Go to the App Store in Xola.
    • Locate and select GetYourGuide.
    • Click Install and agree to the Terms of Service.
  • Configure Your Integration Settings
    • Once connected, you'll need to map your Xola products to your GYG products.
    • To configure which products you would like GYG to access, navigate to Settings > Apps > GetYourGuide and click Configure. Here, you can select the products you want to connect.
  • Map Your Experiences
    • Your Xola and GetYourGuide accounts will still have to be mapped to each other with the help of GetYourGuide's API team or by utilizing their self-mapping portal in your GetYourGuide account.
    • For the Self-Mapping File, download your product mapping file using the Download URL at the bottom of the GYG Settings page in Xola. This file contains the GYG Product IDs needed for mapping.

How it Works

  • Once connected, the integration enables seamless real-time reservations management between GYG and Xola.
  • Customers can book directly through GetYourGuide’s website or app.

  • Reservations made through GYG are automatically reflected in your Xola dashboard.

  • Experience availability is synced between both platforms in real time.

  • All GYG reservations are auto-accepted, regardless of manual accept settings in Xola.

  • GYG does not support Early Cutoff or Per-event Minimums for GYG-integrated Experiences.

  • Only Experiences with supported pricing and schedule structures (e.g., fixed times) will function properly in the integration.


Tips for Success

  • Keep Experience Setup Simple
    Avoid using tiered pricing, all-day availability, or Early Cutoffs, these are not supported and can cause mapping failures.

  • Use the Self-Mapping Portal
    Quickly connect your products using the GetYourGuide self-mapping tool and the Product IDs provided in Xola’s mapping file.

  • Communicate with GYG Support
    For mapping questions or technical guidance, work directly with your GYG Account Manager or API team.


FAQs for GYG Integration

Why is my Experience not showing up in the mapping document? 

If an Experience is not showing up in the mapping document and it is selected in the integration configuration settings, the Experience is most likely not supported.

Why is my Experience not supported?

Some of the reasons an Experience may not be supported are tiered pricing and active schedules with no fixed times. All-day experiences with no fixed times will not map.

My Experience(s) have Early Cutoffs. How does Early Cutoff affect integrating Experiences with GYG?

The concept of Early Cutoff does not exist in GYG. If an Experience has an Early Cutoff configured, the GYG reservations will fail if the reservations are attempted within that Early Cutoff window because Xola will not allow the reservations.

What if my Experience(s) have Per-Outing Minimums set?

Per-Outing Minimums are not supported for Experiences that have been integrated. All reservations are auto-accepted as long as there is availability in that time slot.

What if some of my Experience(s) are set to be manually accepted?

Integrated reservations are auto-accepted. If your Experience is set on manual-accept this logic will be overridden when a reservation comes in.
